Join the Botanical Society of Namibia for an enlightening evening with Gero Diekmann, who will present an illustrated talk on “Devil’s Claw from the View of an Exporter.” Known also as Kamangu, Grapple Plant, or Wood Spider, Devil’s Claw has long been valued as a traditional medicinal herb for treating pain, arthritis, and rheumatism. This talk explores not only its healing properties but also its important economic role. Harvested sustainably in conservancy areas, Devil’s Claw provides much-needed income to rural communities, helping to strengthen local economies. This is a rare opportunity to gain deeper insight into one of Namibia’s most significant natural resources and the people whose livelihoods depend on it.
