International Earth Day Discussion: Rock Art & Heritage

22 April 2025 14:00

This Earth Day, join us for an insightful discussion on Rock Art, one of humanity’s oldest artistic and cultural legacies. This event is proudly hosted in collaboration with the Namibia Nature Foundation, the French-funded COSMO-ART project (ANR – National Research Agency), the French Embassy in Namibia, and RAHMSA (Rock Art Heritage Management in Southern Africa).
🔎 Featuring expert insights from Dr. Mélanie Duval, a heritage and tourism specialist, and Dr. Meed Mbidzo from NUST’s Department of Natural Resource Sciences, this conversation will explore the significance of rock art in preserving history, identity, and the deep connection between people and nature.
🎤 Moderated by Disney Andreas from the Namibia Nature Foundation, the discussion will shed light on how ancient engravings continue to inspire modern approaches to conservation and heritage preservation.
🎙 Special live spoken word performance by Angelina Akawa.
